Falcons' Vick Indicted on Charge of Dog-Fighting

Falcons' Vick Indicted on Charge of Dog-Fighting
7/17/07
Quote:
July 17 (Bloomberg) -- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was indicted on a charge of sponsoring dog fights at a home he owned in Virginia.
A federal grand jury in Virginia indicted the National Football League player and three other men on charges of conspiracy to sponsor a dog in an interstate animal fighting venture.
Vick, 27, and three others -- Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor -- were involved in a dog-fighting operation at a Smithfield, Virginia, home purchased by Vick in 2001, according to the indictment. ``Bad Newz Kennels,'' according to the indictment, used the property for housing and training pit bulls used in dog fights.
The Falcons apologized to their fans in a statement, saying the team was ``disappointed'' that one of their players was ``being presented to the public in a negative way.''

Looks like the NFL and Players Union will be circling their wagons around Vick. At least the NFL has not gotten as out of control as the NBA... YET.

The route I drive is in the inner city in Milwaukee.
Dont know active dog fighting is here.
But on most any day you will see guys training their dogs.
Draging logs or concrete blocks to gain strength.
Or is it they love their pitbulls so much that they worry about the dogs health and fitness?lol

I hope they give vick and his friends the maximum penalty! It hard to believe today that kids look up to these bone heads as role models. As for the dog fighting it makes me sick to my stomach when i hear about stuff like this, especially with pitbulls. Its no wonder that they get a bad rap. The neighbor has one and its the biggest baby in the world. Its all in how you raise them.
