Time to worry for the Red Soxs

The Yankees won and Boston lost That put the Yankees 5 games behind with about a 6 weeks left in the season. I smell another Division Title. THE YANKEES RULE

mikroos5- That will never ever happen again. But you have to give that team credit for doing what they did, they humiliated my Yankees. I was sick for about a month following that loss and still to this day get bad memories. But this is a new season. Yankees will win the division guarantee!!!

Mussina (their most-consistent starter lately) has gotten his ears pinned back-he's TERRIBLE this year. Even Mariano Rivera seems to have suddenly gotten old.

Boston just hammered Chicago in a doubleheader sweep (11-3 and 10-1), behind Josh Beckett (Cy Young, anyone?) and Curt Schilling. Tim Wakefield goes today (going for win #16). NY is one injury away from an implosion.

But hey, the Yankees made the Fortune 500! They cost a fortune, and play about .500 ball!

Boston has the best 1-4 starting rotation in baseball (Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Wakefield), the best closer in the league (Papelbon), the best bullpen in baseball (Okajima, Timlin, Delcarmen, etc.). They have THREE candidates for Rookie of the Year (Matsuzaka, Okajima, second baseman Dustin Pedroia, who is hitting about .325), and the best record in baseball.

Hey...Boston just shelled Chicago (again...going for the 4-game sweep today) yesterday. There are 2 16-game winners in mLB as of now...and both pitch for the Red Sox: Josh Beckett (16-5) and Tim Wakefield (16-10).

Didn't the Yankees lose to Detroit again? Hey, you need a can of the Yankees' official soft drink...CHOKE!

don't the yankees / bosox start a 3/4 game series today ? hate to say it but like to see it, the yanks season is over if they lose the series. there only real hope is if seattle falls apart and goes on a losing streak. sorry yankee fans but i hear the fat lady warming up. more importantly, 4 days til football.
