I had a similar experience with SRT. They called me at home and after I told them I had a dui 6 yrs earlier in my car, they said no problem....bussed me in and on last day of orientation said they couldnt put me on cuz of the dui. They still call my home over a year later asking me to work for them. I told them thay couldn't pay me enough to work for them. I expect things will one day catch up to fools like this.

I saw one driver spraying paint stripper on one of thier pretty purple cabs. I understand why.... although I would never do that.

I talked with another driver who had been burned by SRT and he told me he was going to call some of thier consignees and tell them that he is a driver from SRT and that he had just loaded there a week ago and that they took too long loading and if they ever took that long loading again, that he would personally spit in thier face next time in there. I told this guy...you shouldn't do that cuz SRT might loose that account. He said that was the whole idea...to cost SRT as much loss as possible because they deserve to get what they give. I thought this deal had some great potential. I would love to see SRT lose a multi-million dollar account - especially if SRT understood WHY.

if a former employer makes a statement on the phone that is more than...

yes, joe worked here, from 8/05-9/06, and he is not a rehire.

AN EMPLOYER is prohibbited from slandering you or even telling the truth, when it comes to why you were let go or left.

They can slam your DAC...but cannot make phone statements.

OK here is the good and the bad about SRT as I am still employed with them here are a few things that suck! 1. They are allways ######## about idle time, as this cost fuel ok i see their point of view, and if you are over 45% idle during the summer, they will cut your trucks speed from 68mph to 65 mph. Which is kinda stupid , as I was only over about 5 to 9 percent from the max and this was because I sat 2 day in Bakersfield Ca. in 116 degree weather! I don't care who you are but if I sit in my truck waiting on a load or 2 deliver a load for 2 days you will be running your truck too keep cool. So the brought me in and cut it too 65mph OK buddy your truck you can do with it what you please, now what do i have to worry about they already cut it down so idle away i said to myself might as well be comfortable in this heat right?? So now I am at 68% too the highest I got was 72% now is it saving them fuel nope, they just pissed me off. I seen other companies take care of idle time and fuel cost bye putting in tri paks in the units and these thing pay for themselves in 1 years time. but it seems they are too cheap too put in these units even though in the long run they will keep drivers happy and save on fuel and engine wear 2. Here is a real kicker see if anyone can help me out with this one, the company has of April 1st force every driver too take per diem that means I will be making .37cpm instead of .40cpm but will not be taxed as much this does not suite me as I itemize my return and use the $55 a day meal deduction at 80% I think it is for 2008 from what I heard you cannot deduct this if you are being paid per diem. Is a company allow too do this without the employee request as I have opted out of per diem anytime they have offered it any help or legal help will be appreciated. Now I do want too say that they will run your butt off if you have a good dispatcher since i have started I have made my quarterly bonus 3 time this mean if you run 33,000 miles in 3 months you will get an extra .03cpm which comes out too around $565 after taxes. other than the last two things i have mention I would rate in a scale of 1 to 10 10 being best I would rate SRT a 7 in mile a 6 in driver relations and a 9 on home time thanks too anyone who can tell me about per diems

As the previous poster stated, there is a thread on it. But it's a losing situation in my opinion. Social Security issues in the future, you made less, you paid less taxes. Your benefits are reduced because of it..

Companies MAKE money from holding this money until it is time to actually pay the taxes.

It's win win win for the companies. Not so good for the driver. Unless he is trying to keep his/her earnings down to reduce child support.

You should still be able to make a claim on your taxes you take the deductable percentage of the dally rate and if SRT is paying you less claim it
