    information on SRT

    I am thinking of making a change of employers and SRT is on my list. I realize every organization has its flaws as well as good traits.

    I would like any information you could provide and I will look at them all objectively.

    SRT has very strict rules. Zero tolerence for just about everything you can imagine, logs, dot violations, late delivery, accidents and excessive idle time just to name a few. They also push drivers to use every available minute on E-logs and even more it you know how to maximize on-duty status. The loads are hot and heavy. Trucks are slow and power is set for progressive shift not open wide. 64 is governed speed. 3 months manditory per diem for all new hires. pay is based on 48 states OTR experience. so local CDL drivers start at 30 cpm even though they might have 8 years driving exp. Loads are typically 1200 to 2800 miles depending on your HOS and performance. High milers get 3600 mi per week. ave joe might run 2500 per week and if you cant do that they will cut you to less than a livable wage. On the flip side they pay for everything when it is company related. They advance up to 210.00 per week against next weeks payroll. They run solo drivers coast to coast on regular lanes (10, 40, 70 and 80).
    I usually average 3-4 weeks out as Home time is 5 days off for 4 weeks out. Trucks are 2010 to 2012 as well as Trlrs. On a scale of 1-5, I would give them a 4 because no-company is perfect but they try to be. The question you should ask yourself is do you want to stay out 4 weeks or not. So many guys think they can have it both ways, good home time and great miles.

    Too much like Stevens so I guess I won't be jumping over here. I see they allow pets though, how about large breed of dogs?

    i just leased on last week .....the orientation sucks is geared toward their company fleet on the third day they will take the o.o aside to go over contract and etc.....it is only 9 pages and they cover tolls scales base plates ifta load locks no qc fees or charges ...and for o/o e logs are optional ....there are no escrow accounts whatso ever which shocked me a little but hey whatever .....they pass on their fuel discount but the amount is confidential ....suppossed to average 40 cpm just your typical big company so far did i mention the orientation sucks

    they are ok to drive for. 6 months in. 4 months company driver. 2 months o/o. gotta stay out if you wanna make money. 3 to 4 weeks out. I get 3200-3600 miles per week.

    I signed on with SRT and went to orientation last weekish. You're right, Orientation majorly sucks! I don't know about your orientation experience, but mine was somewhat hilarious in a weird twisted way.

    I was supposed to be on paperlogs, but somehow was put on elogs. Needless to say my qualcomm was NOT a happy camper with me all weekend. lol.

    Got with saftety, and decided to actually go with elogs. It made their day, plus I actually like it. Win Win. Truth be told, there were other issues, but long story short. They wanted to work with me and vice versa so it all worked out.

    I really like the fact that SRT is really willing to work with you, not against you, but with that said they will not tolerate B.S. either. They do have their rules and they're there for obvious reasons, but so far a straight up company.

    hey psyco check your or permit b4 you enter the state i got shut down for a few minutes this week it seems they cancelled my temp permit when my plates came in only prob my plates are in texarkana and well i was was on the way to portland so far the miles have been great trying to make heads or tails of the fuel discount since i am home today was going to audit my fuel reciepts to my settlements and see where i am at

    Well I went to oreintation for a lease program but got there and was told they where not hiring leases at the moment that i would have to wait. got a company truck for now. they seem to have the frieght to keep you moving. orientation sucked. you learn more talking to a wall. the run elogs which suck but hey it is what it is. the biggest thing i hate is the mirco setup. to many messages need to be sent out daily with the same info over and over. example you have to send in a check call every morning saying when you will be able to load another load. than you also have to send out a pta (projected time avab) saying the same thing. they want that every morning nd also if anything changes. personal if they refined their micros it would not be bad but you spend so much time sending messages that youll feel like a 14 year old girl with a phone with txt messaging..lol

    Hey Bigdad, They Fedex'd my plate to me in CO. I'm still not understanding the fuel network, then again it would've helped if I would've received a book or something. My wife gets online and looks up the cheapest place to fuel at and that's where I go. Pretty much Flying J's and Pilot's. I sent a QC message asking for a book to be sent to the house and was told there's plenty in Texarkana ... Like that does me a lot of good out here on the road. You have gotz to love the night and weekend crew.

    Carrkool, you're right. Three different Macros to say the same thing over and over and over again is a bit much and a complete waste of time, but hey whatever floats their boat I guess.

    There was one leasee in my orientation, and he got his his truck pretty quick. Now getting in it and rolling out was a totally different story. He had to get his truck worked on and totally cleaned out before he even left the yard and is still having some minor issues with it.

    Not that anyone needs this advise, but be sure to do your freaking Macro 3 the first second you can when you get to your destination. I forgot to do it on my very first trip with SRT and got my very first Service Failure. I just about flipped a switch and told someone to go somewhere and do something with that service failure right there on the spot. Four years experience, never a service failure until that day. I was there on time and everything, just forgot to send that stupid macro 3 in. It's my bad, I should've sent it in, but in all fairness, I should've got a slap on the hand for not doing it on my very first trip. Though I have to admit, ever since then I add in the notes "I'M HERE and ON TIME". I'm still tweaked about it, can't you tell? lol.

    Most of everyone there is reasonable and fair and really wants to work things out instead of jump at one extreme or another. So I'm going to ride this out as long as I can.
