Don't go to Schneider. At SRT, at least you could get in a nice cool trailer. Schneider is very strict and they'll give you crap equipment when first coming into the company. My truck was crap until a got my exhaust fixed, a front-end alignment, cabin-air filters changed, tires changed, cleaned and deodorized the truck, and I still have an oil pan leak. Now the truck is running good with new u-bolts and I'm due for a trade. Just my luck. Now I'll get a newer truck. Hopefully I won't run into the same problems as this truck.

i recommend driving reefer over dry van. i never worked for either so i can't give insight. But i found Reefer to be better end of trucking than dry

When things got bad in trucking in 08-09 i had miles. i'd do my reset and hear all kinds of sad stories from drivers feeling the pinch and i was running out of hours. In almost 15 years i always did better pulling reefers,
and the noise helps you sleep better -
Real life tho.... You'll be sitting at your fair share of grocery warehouses. -
Yes but you're sitting at that warehouse with more weekly miles
-
How does sitting at a warehouse get you more miles?
-
And meat packing plants.
And produce facilities.
And etc....
Yep; quite a bit of waiting on a dock.....then a lumper.....then loading/unloading.....then count and varify.....then bills signed.....then pallet exchange.....then trailer wash-out.....then dispatch.....then you can go get your next load.
Make sure you have a C.B. that works----"Southern Refrigerated Transport trailer #53678, go ahead and back into dock 21 when that driver pulls out".....you'll hear a lot of that.
