If you don't care about the property you have in your truck, then this is the company for you. ALL trucks are keyed the same; reason (per SRT) in case you lock yourself out, just look for another SRT driver. If you shut down for your 10, run the seatbelt (driver and passenger) through the door handle. Which is fine but what about eating, showering, or just getting out for awhile, then what?
Going through Orientation (which is not paid to you), don't worry about eating your 70, they have you log all 4 days OFF-DUTY. You put in 8 hrs a day with their stuff. Oh! they give you a meal ticket 7.00 at Denny's (anything over you pay for). Not bad, but; What can you really get that isn't under 7.00?
Need to make a phone call; bring your cell (even for Local calls) SRT has the Motel shut off phones.
If you are allergic to dogs; be-worn this place permits animals.
The last day of Orientation they will give you the keys to YOUR truck, and a vehicle pre-trip inspection sheet, check the truck throughly due to the fact SRT doesn't do really well in servicing their trucks. Check the oil, if the truck starts at all.
Take a trash bag with you, they don't detail the trucks.
Truck wash: They tell you that you have 1 truck wash a month a the yard, that is per truck not per driver (which means-if it is a new truck for you and the driver that left the truck and had washed the truck that month-you will not be able to wash the truck)

That is ate up! We are allowed 1 wash a week at a yard and a blue beacon every 15 days and I still wash mine at home on the weekend and mine can look like it has not had a bath in a month sometimes.

truck washing

What kind of image are they trying to present? A clean truck is possibly the only thing people will see of their company. You know what they say about first impressions!

You are correct. I imagine that its probably in response to abuse by drivers claiming hours for washing trucks when it wasnt necessary. Unfortunately some rules are made to prevent abuse, and that usually has been brought on by one of our fellow humans.
My truck supposedly gets washed on weekends by a mobile pressure washer guy, but I dont see any difference from the Friday when I park it to Monday morning when I climb back in it again... oh well...

Common keyed trucks for large companies are common.... Freightliner has 4 different common keys... So other companies probably use the same key, it's not just company wide common key, it's multi-company wide common key...

I know this because I locked my keys in my truck at a receiver and a driver from another company was able to unlock my truck with his key.... You thought it was something to worry about before.......

if you like running illegal , then SRT is the place for you , the first time you tell them you dont run illegale , your done . I lasted 4 months there . I got some really messed up directions from them going to Gerber and busted a utility pole , LOL the cops didnt cite me for an accident , they told me that pole had been hit many many times because drivers are getting bad directions . I was told by safety that I was fired because of that but thats not why I was fired , I was fired because I sat three key people down and told them if they cant run me legal, then dont run me at all and give me a bus ticket home .
I just finished getting most of the crap they put on my DAC record off .
