I don't begrudge someone a parking spot. This is three spots down from a designated spot, and he paid the price...... And the drivers you blocked???????
Flatbed couldn't negotiate the turn and tore the left side off.

Lots of paperwork, and eventually a forum post including the phrase . . .

    "I had a couple of small incidents .. . "

Yeah, dumb place to park but if the other truck couldn't make the turn he should have had the Stevens truck move, no excuse to tear the front off another truck.

    Stevens: Poor choice of parking

    Flatbed: Poor driving.

I've seen incidents like that dozens of times. Lazy, self-centered drivers to sorry to park in a designated spot.

Obviously you've never run elogs and landed in a place with no parking left and no time to get somewhere else. I would bet all those dedicated spaces he was too lazy and self centered to get in were full when he took the only option he had left. The driver who hit him was not steering his trailer and could have stopped if he had been using his mirror. This is an epic fail on both drivers.

I had taken a long break because of my asthma and vacation, yesterday was my first load out and reminded me some of the things I dislike about driving. To many idiot drivers that are inconsiderate and park where ever is closest to the truck stop and most convenient even if its not designated parking and you block access in or out of a TS. There was plenty parking in the back but even guys w.out trailers were to lazy to go back there and park. Parking @ the pump while they go inside to eat, take a dump and flirt w the cashier. Oh boy I can go on and on

The Houston area is the fuel stealing / siphoning capital of America.
Watch your tanks if you park there overnight.
Company where I work has banned us from parking
at several places due to this.
As far as parking it's pretty crowded.

I know all about Elogs; used them for about 15 years. Both drivers share the blame, but the Stevens driver was illegally parked. There could be 100 empty parking spots and some drivers still prefer to illegally park; it's like a "spite" thing, no one tells me where to park!

Hard to tell for sure, but from looking at both pics, there should have been room to make that maneuver. Even with the Stevens parked wrong, it don't look too tight there. Like one poster said, still no reason to hit the poorly parked truck. Just stop and get him to move.

That flying J is filled to capacity at about 3pm. By 10 pm you have trucks quadruple parked along the entrance drive and each lane narrows down to almost 1 truck width. It is one of the Worst truckstops that I have ever been to, parkingwise. Not to mention that the place is filled with beggars and hawkers
