I have read somewhere that drivers are not allowed to take their trucks home on their days off is true?

It's true if you are a company driver. Stevens has secure locations for truck and trailer parking or you can find your own and have them approve it. You can park your truck at home if you lease it though.

Do you know if they have secure locations in Phoenix? Might be easier to use Swift program ???

I dont know about Phoenix firsthand but it' s a pretty big city. Lots of truck dealerships ans repair places have secure parking and so do storage facilities, RV dealerships, etc... You can call Stevens to find out what they have approved there.

wow times have changed. I used to drive for James H Clark, CH Dredge and US Express. I would just like to park ma truck and go home. See my dog, wash some clothes. Obviously Stevens is not the carrier for me. I dont mind being out for 16 months at a time..... but when I do get home..... F#€♤ you if i cant park it out front my house!

Any company that tells its drivers they can't park trucks at home on home time isn't worth working for. Even swift let's otr drivers take the truck home; if the company you work for doesn't, gtfo of there...

I can't park a truck at my house anyway, zoning issues, I live in a residential neighborhood, hence it doesn't matter who I drive for, I still am not taking the truck home.

I had that issue for a period of time (when I had my first home)...I just asked management at the local grain elevator (whom always had lots of room) if it would be o.k. to park the truck there, out of the way, during the weekends...and said I'd be happy to pay them a reasonable rate. They said, as long as I was out of the way go ahead, and didn't charge me a dime.
The company was o.k. with the "safe parking" and gave me the okie dokie as well. Didn't have a place to plug it in...but I drove the 5 or 6 blocks to the truck each morning, and started it up and let it warm up for a bit.

Some of these companies ask too much out of us. They want the truck at the terminal. Or in a fenced in yard. Just not feasible in most situations.
