My husband is looking at several trucking companies and wanted to see if we could get any feed back on the medical benefits. Premiums, deductables, copays, & Rx coverage. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I don't really know what I pay. I do know that I consider the coverage reasonable and pretty straight forward.
I've never had to use it for anything major, but it's been great for doctors, labs, prescriptions, etc. -
The insurance which includes denal and vision is $47.80 per week for a single person with a $300 deductible. The policy pays 80% of eligible costs with max $ 10,300 out of pocket.
For a family it's $98.25 weekly. Employee plus 1 is $81.50. I have the handbook and could answer any specific questions you might hveCOWGIRL-UP 40 and ajb293 Thank this. -
That is pretty atrocious if routine medical is not covered 100%. You would cringe if you saw how much they can legally bill for medical imaging and bloodwork.

Not many insurance policies cover 100% of routine medical except for a few Cadillac plans. That takes a policy from the realm of insurance and makes it prepaid medical. That is usually quite a bit more expensive.
I have had some pretty good plans over the years but short of the Military, I have never had one where there were no out of pocket costs, copays, or deductibles. -
Yeah my opinion is a tad biased. Last job was county goverment with medical benefits paid for by the tax payers (i almost gave them credit ;p). Previously was in the medical field prior to that so insured by a hospital system. 20% of all eligible costs still seems too much for 10k out of pocket liability. One incident and you could hit that with todays health care costs. Its still better then nothing though.

All I know is that for me an Employer "sponsored" HMO is best for my situation. Other than that I don't know a dang thing about health insurance (it confuses me!). I'm still on my dad's plan right now (United Healthcare - its not the greatest).
Sorry about the cuss word, mods. I didn't realize I wrote it until submission!
