I have to address a comment I keep coming across from ex drivers:
"And as .... I'm home every night sleeping in my bed and getting paid."
So am I. My bed just happens to be on wheels, not a stationary platform. I purchased my own mattress for the truck, so that I would get good rest. It is about a person's mind set, and what do they truly want from life.
Trucking is NOT for the majority of people, but many have turned to it from all the advertisements, and then reality sets in, and they hate it.
And my "home time" consists of fishing, visiting friends, sleeping in a tent, or a cabin, or on a friends couch... or in a hotel room. My choice.... One day I will have a bus home, that I can locate where ever I want...even on my land at times.

I'm looking for a little piece of land, with a nice little brook or stream ... maybe a few trout, and a bit of hunting. All it needs to have is a place to park the rig, and some trees. If you could centrally locate that, I'd be stopping there for the night every chance I get. I'm jealous TLea, good for you.
I suppose the trick with the land is to actually find it and then ... in this economy ... be able to afford the payment.

Setting on the yard/prison. Only thing stopping me from clearing is getting the elogs installed, and then the class.
Oh and OS&D backed down on his threat, no class, no talking to his boss, which I did back when the incident happened.

I have a boat in mind, probably in FL around the Keys. I see a house or apartment as a box to rot in and need to be mobile in some way. I like the bus home idea too TLH, I see some nice older buses that have been converted to a coach and like the idea.

Well I think I've bridged the Time Space Continuem successfully!
Left Max Meadows, VA at midnight and am now sitting in Sulpher Springs, TX.
Should make it to Ft Worth in another 2.5 hours and drop this load, then head in to the yard.
All within my 11.25 hrs avail to me today.
I knew that physics degree would help me out some day!
