I'm sure your definition of 'real good' and Stevens, is a bit different.

Pretrips, like Post Trips are done on Line 4 (On Duty).
It will remain on line four until you change it or if you begin driving. You must go further than 2 miles radius from where you came on duty OR exceed 24mph.
So driving around the truck stop (as long as you're not a speed demon) will not trip you onto the drive line.
You must ALWAYS manually go onto lines one (OFF DUTY) or two (SLEEPER BERTH).
It will never go there automatically.

Well I've been away from TTR for quite a while. Time gets away from you when you're having fun.
Been running in the south mostly...NC thru Arkansas. Lot's of chicken loads.
Got a load now that's heading for California, where I'll sneak in some home time.
Heard we're starting to get some of the new 680's in. Anyone seen them? (in person)
I'm almost ready for yard time. Thought of cruising by on my way to Cali, but then I'd never get out and never get home.
So I'll go home first, then have them panic because I'm over due at the yard.
Miles have been good. Done a fair amount of repowers lately. Guess that's the name of the game these days.

In Norfolk, NE for a morning delivery to Afiliated Foods. Recognized this place after I got here.
Then off to N. Platte for the final tomorrow evening. wallyworld.
Got a preplan to pick up from Monfort and take to New Jersey, so my weekend is planned.
I love preplans in advance like this. Makes life so much more pleasant.
About time for the meat loads to get heavy. Fourth is coming.
Where is everybody? Seems kind of quiet on the board.

Well, I posted a couple of weeks ago asking some questions about Stevens. Well I made it to the school this past saturday. The school has actually been pretty hectic. I got past the physical, and pasted my first two tests to get my permit. Actually was able to get behind the wheel for the first time today. It was actually really fun, I can't wait to get some more time behind the wheel. I was just curious about something though. Stevens seems to be very unorganized in everything that we have done so far. I know that once we get out on the road, we have to come back to the yard every 90 days. How long do you end up having to sit in Dallas before you can head back out. It just seems everything takes about four times longer than it should.....

I understand that fully. But after pti I drive when done do another pti. Approve logs then when I go back after trainer drives to do our daily report and check graph. It shoots our pre trip to line 1 every time for some reason. Was just wondering if anyone else has had same problem or even noticed.

I dont know if this is your issue but ...You have to have the key in the OFF position when you start the PTI and you can NOT turn it to ON untill it shows 2 mins elapsed time .. or it will kick you off line 4.

unorganized pretty much sums up the trucking industry as a whole. Its just managed chaos. I personally hit the yard every 3 to 4 weeks and Im cleared within a half day and ready to go again. Its not a big deal and "the yard" is just a part of working with Stevens. They like to keep a tight leash on the goings on.
