Exclamation Road Construction ???

Okay, now I can say I've seen job security at it's highest level this week.

Running the 101 south of Port Angeles, WA pulling the grades grossing 78K. Slooooow RV coming into view as I take the next grade at about 40 mph. Downhill side BIG SIGN, passing lane ahead . As I top the rise and build up a head of steam. I notice right at the beginning of the "passing lane" 2 large Orange signs....road construction. Can't see it, so I keep hammerin....get to the signs, One Lane road ahead, the other says Flagman ahead.

I fall in behind the RV , round the turn, on the hilside...and there the guy sits with his flag. We're stoppin just past the start of the grade

Can't see the "construction", it's around the other curve. So we sit and wait, get the go ahead. Take off on a 5% grade with 78K....very slowly watching that RV pull away. Round the curve, and to my amazement, they have the 2 outside lanes shut down...so they can spray paint the shoulder a pretty "natural" green aaaaaaaargh !!!!!!

Anyone have a Zanax???

sounds about as sensless as when they close lanes here in Los Angeles to build brick walls along the freeway so the gangbangers can paint their graffitti on them. this is done in the interest of "beautification" of our fine bumpy ### freeways. never did see the logic of concrete paving on unstable ground!
