Sam Elliot, Micheal Parks and Kris Kristofferson. To my mind they are the head and shoulders favorites. How do ya want the part played? Quiet, controlled and tough? Sam Elliot. Brash, extroverted and wise? Kris Kristofferson. Internalized, bomb-proofed and quietly authoritarian? Micheal Parks. These are your guys.

After reading all the posts and visualizing three actors that could play the part well, each with a uniqueness about them, I choose; Sam Elliott, Robert Duvall & Kris Kristofferson and to make three movies! Well, I could have said Robert Redford and turn it into a love story, well it might in the end!

When I picture their acting abilities, and then picture them in a truck, I think Robert Duvall has a lot of spunk and I can see him in the driver's seat dealing with the "atmosphere" in an way that would catch my attention.

I think it's funny when I read the first post the first thing that poped into my head was Kristoferson, then Elliot. then I read the whole thread and it's chock full of those names... Must mean something!

Although I would put Kristoferson on top not elliot. Plus he's got to be cheaper!
I would have never though of Duvaul but that's actually a pretty god one.

Costner was actually a truck driver but he just doesn't seem right to me. too slick I guess. I do really like almost all his movies though so I'm sure he could get into the part. May look to young though and I don't like it when they make a younger person "look" older.

This is a brutal unforgiving life so I do thin you are looking for someone to express a sense of being the rough, gristled veteren of the road.

Now I think we all deserve small parts for our effort don't you? That or we can send you our invoices for consulting services rendered

Medicine man, thank you for your comments..I think we are on to something..the names you mentioned are getting the most votes..unfortunately funding could be a deciding factor...I will be approaching the trucking industry soon asking for their support. I would like to use many of the handles I have seen, in the script..have a great day..
