Hey Rob enjoy your trip with your family. Not sure if you have one, but I picked up a book on amazon for 10 bucks called the "next exit 2010". Tons of great info in there.
Have a great weekend.Last edited by kurbski; 06.10.2010 at 12.13 PM. Reason:: spelling

I have one of those that I am going to give to my Dad for Fathers day. I will drive while he mans the book and tells me where to stop....Just like a dispatcher.
6/11
Just got the call from dispatch. I was counting on a dedicated out and back run for next week. I couldn't have gotten a better one money wise. I load in Hopewell Va Monday at noon, run that load to Houston delivering Wednesday and come back to High Point by Friday. 2600 miles that should gross over $1000 depending on load/unload time. With a vacation scheduled I was expecting a short week but this one should hit pretty close to my average for the year.

Do you know how far Superior will hire out from their terminals? I live in Columbus, OH and was wondering if that's too far out from Cincinatti for them. Also, do you know what the training entails for an experienced driver? I have four years pulling mostly meat and produce but never a tanker. Thanks for the help!

Best way to find out is to give the Cincy TM a call. The training will probably only be a couple of weeks to learn the paperwork and operation of the tanks on air and pump unloads. I am thinking 120 miles is the max. That terminal is in N Cincy close to I-71 so that should help you. Good luck

I tried asking, he said there was note on me that said driver is regional, to be routed back to home terminal. I suspect since we only have two guys doing this dry bulk he doesn't want me to get too far. Those guys in Greensboro & Charlotte terminals are super friendly, I love going by there.
Kinda sucks you ended up driving during your vacation too.

Great restaurant in Taos. Pink Adobe. May be a little pricey for whole family but the food is wonderful.

Any of you guys work out of the Cincinnati terminal? I spoke with the TM; I'm hoping to get on with them within the next month and was looking for feedback if that's a good terminal to work out of. Thanks.

Thanks for the info; the TM told me they have guys who run dedicated out of Columbus which is where I live, but I would rather be OTR and I'm thinking of relocating to Cincy within the next year anyway. Hopefully all goes well and I'll be over there in the next few weeks.
