    BACKGROUND:

I have given some thought to my current situation and tried to be objective about the long term outlook. While I am home every night, its not the best situation. I currently have a class a with tanker and hazmat endorsements. I haul hazmat (stuff that goes boom is all I am going to specify) driving a 14 wheeled auto 90% of the time, the rest 16 wheel standard 10 speed. I have been doing this for 16 months. Before this I drove otr for maverick . I loved maverick but I came to one of those dreaded crossroads. Family needed me, it was literally life or death. I quit while underload. I realize that is always bad, however hear me out. I was on the home terminal yard when things got scary. I walked in to explain to my dm what was going on but he was gone. So I explained to the 2nd shift guy. He was a douche but another dm a lady overheard and stepped in. She had been in my shoes. I explained I didn't want to....but I had to. I knew I was under load to deliver the next day. The lady said if we can find a repower it won't go on dac. If we can't it will. So I said if they couldn't I would deliver then turn in truck. Well, got a re-power. Parted ways " with no hard feelings, complete understanding and best wishes". I haven't checked my dac so I don't know if it is on there.

    Question....finally:

Will Superior consider a driver with these two histories? I realize some don't like guys who have been driving alot of autos. I also realize that even though these 14 and 16 wheel trucks are big, bulky, won't turn and general hunks of junk that require a carefull driver----they are technically straight trucks.

    thanks for any input.

I'm not sure why that would go on your Dac report. I mean you left the company and you were not terminated. It don't hurt just to apply anyway and see what happens? I'm not a superior guy just my two cents. Good luck

You may well be eligible for hire. Best bet is to call the terminal closest to you and talk to the terminal manager. Augusta, Atlanta, and Savannah are the 3 in GA.

    bigbrett,

Put in an application and see what happens. I don't see why Superior would not take a look at you. They are, from my experience, a family friendly company. Anytime I have had family things come up, and there have been a few, they never had any problem with me taking care of matters. I was dispatched on one load and had something come up at the last minute. Called the office and no big deal. They said they would find someone else to take the load and go take care of what I needed to take care of. So I am sure they would be understanding to your past situation.

I am sick of hearing about all these trucking companies out here threatening to put crap on your DAC. F the DAC report and F the company that put's crap on there trying to ruin your life. I say go ahead and put stuff on there. I could give 2 sharts. I had a job before this one and can always find another. Driving ain't the only career out here. I can take it or leave it. I am not saying Superior is like this. Just talking in general.
