they didn't have to recover nothing the truck was at home terminal with the trainer and he knew we were gonna quit
nothings wrong with that but when we stopped to see her he dragged us along
if he wants to see his wife thats fine but he can do it on his time off hes getting paid to train and it sounds to me like you didn't trust your wife -

Only thing I know of Gainey is I saw there Trucks, and like all they will promise you a Rose Garden to work for them.
As for the Trainer stopping to see his wife, it sounds ok with me. When I was out with a Trainer, he stopped and visted with his Grandparents. I had no problem, I slept the entire time. 6 hours of non rocking sleep.
Ok this is off Gainey but same subject of quiting under a load.
Example one. I gave notice of my intentions to quit, I was asked to pick up a load in Ga and bring to the yard in Tn at the terminal. The load was going to Kentucky. At the Yard they asked if I would take it on to Kentucky but that I refused since we already had an agreement.
Would that be quiting under a load?
Example 2 I was charged quiting under this load. I just started with this company and was given a load assignment I did not Accept. I then told them it will not work out for I saw to much like CR England. I then bobtailed back to Atlanta and turn the truck in. Yet I did not accept the load, I was charged quiting under aload. -

You should've kicked the trainer out on the side of the road, and kept truckin.

I don't see anything wrong with a trainer stopping to see his wife. While I attended my training with Roehl, I had a trainer go home twice and see his wife, he left me at the Truck stop, made sure I had a shower, meal, etc.
The next week, he made sure we had a load go through, so I could stop and see my wife. One thing I have learned, it gets very lonely being out on the road, and thank god that he does stop to see his wife and children.
I was fortunate, I had great trainers, but I also took a different attitude into this, this is there truck and responsibility, I am the student, and I want to learn all I can. I have also heard of many horror stories about the trainer, but my hat is off to mine.
