While most would probably assume the same thing, I am NOT a Gainey official. Trust me when I say that if I were, I would have a lot more IMPORTANT things to do with my time. I'm posting here because I do know people who work for them, and I work in the industry as well. What I find amusing is the amount of mud-slinging going on by disgruntled drivers, and most of them being vague on their reasons. I have as much right to post my knowledge and opinions here just like everyone else. What is also amusing is that when someone stands up and says, "No, that's NOT how it is...", that people such as yourself have to blame it on alterior motive. I read and post on Gainey threads because I know the people, the company, AND a lot of the drivers. I have insight to dispute and play "Devil's Advocate". Don't be a hater because I don't agree with blind or one sided mud-slinging. I make my own mind and opinions based on what I feel is fact.

this person says he has friends and or drivers that work for gainey, does this give you right to comment on something that you dont know anything about, have couple friends that are owner operators with landstar---the only thing i personally know about landstar is what am told about landstar by my friends ---i dont go around and post or comment about landstar because i dont know anything about them...like to know what you do in the trucking industry......really do..see you location wyoming michigan---5 minutes from the gainey terminal..mmmmmm...strange--but you can explain that you have friends that work for gainey..and that makes you and expert...

i to have many friends with gainey people that work in the front office and know drivers----but am not expert or care to be what the intricial workings of gainey---but i do know why did mr gainey ---go out buy huge plots of land in montana and arizona--and fly around in his lear jet---and not pay his creditors--what--else was he doing with all that money ---if he wasnt paying his creditors --am sure it wasnt filtering down to the drivers--maybe you can enlighten me where all that money was going..and the street right off of 54th stret to the terminal the posted speed is 25 miles per hour---and company officials tell drivers not to speed ---not to speed ..but harvey's son in his very exotic sports cars speeds through there all the time--been told that --but some people are above the law...since i know people that work in the front office and know drivers i can say this ----and not knowing business practices as harvey does--if my company was suffering ---and like harry truman said the buck stops here--why didnt he try to cut back on perks--his plane not buying all that land--etc etc...and maybe having some of that money trickile down to drivers..

I'm curious has to what position in Gainey this guy really plays. I would be willing to bet he is not, nor has he ever been a driver for Gainey or any other company. He says "What I find amusing is the amount of mud-slinging going on by disgruntled drivers, and most of them being vague on their reasons." Yet in a different thread (a couple of them I think) he says he has been "in the industry" and his profile shows "Location: wyoming, mi
Trucker? Trucking Industry" Shoot the guys at the Streakin Beacon are in the "trucking Industry" and you don't see a bunch of truck washers on here talking about how they know the industry. I figure one of two things. Either he does work for Gainey and is doing some PR work or his position itself within the "industry" disqualifies his opinion with drivers and he knows it. That is the purpose for his reason to be as vague as he is. Personally, the closest I have ever come to Gainey is I considered driving for them back in 04 and gave even more serious consideration to Super Service who apparently was bought out by Gainey. With that said I don't see any positive posts on here for the most part. Not recently anyway. In this current economic climate you can't even go back as far as last christmas because things and companies have changed so much since then.

Really, does that include the west michigan customers?

I get to every industrial/commerecial area in west mi daily and the only place i see Gainey trucks or trailers are packed into their own lot at the end of clay ave. Looks like Equity did a pretty good job of picking up and reatining most of Gaineys customers.

    harley,
That's kind of funny, that before you started posting here, I sinverely doubt people were begging you to post your opinions here. As for hiding behind the cloak, why not give your truck number, and the year(s) you drove for Gainey?

    Team,
Like you said, you dont know me. And like I'm going to volunteer info that NONE of you are willing to. trust me (or don't), I know more about the industry than you believe. Personally I don't care if you do. Driving and employment records speak for themselves.

    Crash,
and yes thay have been getting their accounts back left and right every week. Gainey used to have over 2000 trucks on the road. Just like many companies (who DID go out), the are now in the process of slimming down and selling trucks and trailers they dont need. This is smart business in this economy.

Ultimately you guys don't like what I have to say, so it's easier for you to attack me than let me have my say (which I have EVERY right as you guys). I wish you guys luck in your future endevours, and it's too bad you guys had bad experiences at Gainey, but that doesnt make the company, other drivers, employees of the industry, or myself bad because we don't just pony up and shed a tear for your hardships.

It is apparent to me that if he were to give the truck number and the years he drove you would be able to find out his identity.

In order to do this, you must work in the company offices.

I was trying to make a point. I was being accused of "hiding" behind my identity. The truth of the matter is... almost everyone on here is.
