Has anyone installed an APU on a company truck that they bought for themselves? Or is that even possible?

Sorry.... Swift changed my (permanent) truck a 6 times in 2 years, hence the laughter. Can you imagine installing the APU 6 different times? Editors Note: That meant 13 trucks driven for more than 5 days in 22 months.

Oh and reminder! 3 days off and they can re-assign your truck to someone else. On that note, I wouldn't recommend spending your hard earned cash on anything that isn't really portable. Unless you're an L/O or O/O, that is.

To be fair, 1st switch was from a 3 axle to a 4 axle 105 rig.
2nd was to a local truck to help out for awhile (60 days)on intermodal.
3rd was back to 105's--this one had a bad tranny (ran it for 2 months)
4th was the next 105 rig with good tranny
5th was to local 105 truck again....

    you get the picture....lol

Basically, they used to me to shake out the problems on some garbage rigs. They liked that I have a mechanical background and could get the shop to really fix the trucks instead of bandaid repairs.

Swift's idle policy varies from month to month in what prcentage they allow. I always get a QC message that tells me what the idle goal and mpg goal are for the month. The expect you to idle less in the spring and fall months than the summer and winter months. Be reasonable, and it won't be an issue.

As for coolers, I like the Koolatron. I had bought a Coleman once, and it only lasted a week. I also bought a Snackmaster once, and that one lasted a month. The Koolatron made it almost a year, so when it quit, I bought another.

I guess you think christians can't have a sense of humor or crack a smile. A positive thing to say? :biggrin_25523: I guess you don't read much do you? Don't smile or nothing... wouldn't want you to be cast into the lake of eternal fire. I hope you drive better than you observe.
