Thanks for e1s patience. I have dogs and am trying to figure out what to do with em while on the road. Hubby and I are going to team, but will drive for company for awhile to get a feel for things.
We really dont want to give up our "kids" and dont have any family/friends near.
    Any suggestions?
    Please dont answer cruelly
    Thanks

There are some I can think of:

Kennel them. Problem here is cost. Depending on the kennel, it can get pretty pricey.

Have a dog/house sitter. If you'll be on the road a lot, there are people who will gladly take care of your home and pets in exchange for a place to live. Just make sure it's someone on the up and up. This works especially well if you're in a college town and school is in session.

Take them to a relative's house. As you said, you have nobody nearby, but maybe it's time to visit that sister or brother you haven't seen in ages. Issue here would be how the dogs do in a strange place with people they don't know...but it would be the same at a kennel.

Find a company that is pet friendly. They are out there. Conway was allowing pets when I was asking around a couple years ago. There are others out there. You would just have to do a little homework.

Last, but probably a bad idea: sneak them onto the truck and stay out of your home terminal as much as possible.

    Good luck to you.

Wyld, I am with injun. See about renting your place out. This way, your pet is taken care of, and you wont have to put all your stuff into storage.

Hows this week going for your hubby? Who is his instructor?

Thanks for the advice. I am already looking for a house sitter, but am very leary.

Cookie, he is going to test again on Friday and is very excited as he had the pretrip down, just made a stupid mistake on the numbers cause he was a bit nervous with the tester aboard.

    Will keep ya posted.
