JD, I thought you were going to SNI? You know who I'd recommend. IMO Werner isn't that good. I was there 11 weeks is all. Super low pay, and an incredibly non reliable truck. The mechanics at unSprungfield Ohio, actually overruled safety on my truck. I was not impressed at all with anyone there including the terminal manager. The lady that gave our orientation was the only one there that I cared much for.

Swift, I don't know anything other than what I read here. I feel for some of those guys. They do have some very good drivers, and on occasion I yapped for many miles on the CB with a couple of them. Actually had some decent conversations with them.

Good luck to ya, you know that.:biggrin_25525:

agreed, they are all bottom feeders.....pick a color do you prefer white, orange, or a blue truck because thats about the only difference in all of them..

Did you think they were all stupid or something? Just because they drive for a company that people bandwagon hate so much?

OP, I can't say anything about Werner or Schneider as I've never worked for them. But I can vouch for Swift and I will vouch for them. I've been there for 3 years and can't complain one iota. I love my job and my time there. It's all about attitude and appearance and work ethic.

No way I thought that, just the opposite. Hey, people bandwagon hate SNI as well, and I was happy there!

I feel bad for the guys that think they can judge a person by the colour of truck, or the name on the door.

Really, it was not meant as any kind of a slam.:biggrin_25525:

How did you come to that conclusion?

I am still a strong supporter of Schneider. Work for them until you're seasoned and find something else.

You never had your license and your livelyhood "ripped" right out from underneath you either have you???? And from the actions or lack thereof of the very company you are so "wonderously praising"......Where was the "attitude, appearance and work ethic" when it came to someone standing up for the responsibility of their actions???..Or lack thereof.....Oh yeah, I forgot, your company can do NO wrong.........one word......Millington

Opinions are like #########, everyone's got one and there are alot of them here. So I might as well add my own.

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember from when I was looking for a driving job last year that SNI requires some kind of experience. But I could be wrong on that too. I'm not looking for a job right now so I haven't looked into it lately. I did check out SNI back then and there was just something about them that wouldn't work for me. If they work for you, great, I wish you all the best.

I was actually looking close at Werner and almost went there, but they turned me down when I was fired from my last job. Fine. If they wanna pass up on a good, safe, reliable, driver because of a stupid policy, then that just shows the kind of company they are. You can bet I won't be applying there again.

I do drive for Swift and I'm happy here. That doesn't mean it's been all peachy and roses though. Check out my thread in this section and you can read about my ups and downs.

In the end, yes, they are all starter companies and they all have bad reputations. If you check out the threads, everything that has been said bad about one company has been said about all the other companies. And often times it's been said by people who have never even worked for them. They are just passing on stuff they have heard or read without ever experiencing it for themselves.

My advice is forget about all the opinions and look at the facts. Look at what each company is offering and compare with what your needs are. Every company is not going to meet all of your needs, but look into the one that comes the closest.

Whoever you choose, pay attention to the trainers, ask questions, do what is expected of you, and most of all, be SAFE. Good luck to you.
