I didn't have much luck with Max Burton. I went thru 3 of them in as many months. I've got a Tracker lunchbox oven now, and that has lasted pretty well, so far (knock on wood). I heard others say Max Burton is the best. Maybe there was just something up with the electrical system in this particular truck that was blowing them out.

Whichever brand you go for, the lunchbox style ovens are the way to go. No inverter needed, they cost about the same as a crockpot, and you can cook almost anything in them. My only complaint is it's not big enough, because I like to cook a lot when I have time and have a bunch of leftovers I can just toss in to heat up when things get hectic.

I use either the disposable aluminum pans, slow cooker liners, or foil to cook in, and then swab it out with a Clorox wipe after I'm done. Glass dishes with the rubber lids work well to store leftovers. Pull it out of the cooler, take the lid off, and set it directly in the oven. This means you will have a dish to wash, though.

There is 12V crock pots out there.

I blew the fuse on my Volvo a couple days ago. Had my Coleman cooler plugged into the dash power port and plugged in my Burton digital cooker to the cigarette lighter. it worked for a while. Now I plug the cooler into the port in the sleeper when cooking and driving.

When I use my Road Pro lunch box cooker it doesn't blow the fuse with the cooler plugged in.
