Can anyone tell me why it seems a quite large percentage of Swift drivers drive around with their fog lights...aka "good buddy lights" on all the time? when someone passes you at night it darn near blinds them. I also see them on all the time during the day.
I was wondering if their is a rythme or reason to this?

maybe they had to hot wire them in so they didn't have to remember to turn them on .....or they could be daytime lights too who knows not me

We have found in major traffic turning on the fog lights helps the 4 wheelers see us and they usually are less willing to cut in front of us because of em. We dont run em all the time tho.

Ok i might buy that(In major traffic), but why at night? and not have the common sense to turn them off when being passed? Honestly i think it is stupid and a lazy practice by us Swift drivers and should be stopped.

Some believe it helps to have four lights on versus two. What they don't understand, though, is the angle fog lights are supposed to be set at will not help general visibility. All they are supposed to do is light up the gound immediately in front and to the sides of the vehicle...under the fog so you can see where the road is.

Some run them because they think it looks cool. It doesn't. It looks like there's a jack*** driving the truck. That would be the same jack*** who will flash his or her brights in your mirror at the very instant you are looking to see where they are. Fog lights are especially annoying in the rain. When the roads are wet, they shine excessively bright off the water.

Some continue on with the "four-wheeler attitude" that is best summed up with the following: Monkey see, monkey do. They saw someone else with their fog lights on and, so, turned theirs on too. Gotta fit in with the crowd.

Some legitimately had them on ad just forgot to turn them off when no longer needed. (That would be me on occasion. I rarely use my fog lights.)

And some are genuinely gay men looking for entertainment.

I am in full agreement. I believe i will stick with the notion that they are "Good Buddy" lights and every idiot who has em on is....well....:biggrin_25513:

In the volvo it's the same switch as the headlights. some don't even realize they turn them on. They just turn the switch all the way

On the Volvo: is it turn the switch all the way, or pull the switch out? The '08 I drove (and my Dodge) you pulled the headlight switch out to get your fog lights. Doesn't make them any less irritating. Same as those "back porch" lights. I had heard that if you leave your work lights on, regardless of color, you were a "catcher" looking for company.

But there are some of those chrome-junkies out there who think it looks cool to have whatever color lights reflecting off their dirty trailers. Makes me
