Also finally home. What a long 6 weeks of messed up freight and miles and truck breakdowns.

Chicago to Pharr TX, Pharr to Ft Worth, Ft Worth to San Antonio. Looking to get west this week myself for home time. All load offers going east to Houston....

Bought a new toy, dash cam.

Cruise control switch broke the other day, just flopping around in its slot. I was hating driving the long flat stretches without it working. What I do is ride like a jockey, left foot up on the fire extinguisher and right foot up on the trailer king pin lock about the same position back as the fire ex. Sort of like my feet are up on stirrups. I don't know, sounds weird but it keeps me pumped up and alert all day as opposed to having my right foot stretched out in the same position all day long pushing the accelerator.

Anyway I started fooling with the switch, popped it out and saw that it was a little plastic piece inside the toggle part that was broken. Called up KW 5 miles up the road, they had 3 switches in stock $111 bucks. Drove up there, plugged it in and test drove, yay works!

Yes, pulling a 13 series Swift trailer. And the time you mentioned was about when I would have been where you saw me.

oh and another thing. when i picked this load up at quaker oats in indianapolis this morning, both mudflaps on trailer were broken off. yard jockey ran over these curb things at back of spot when he was backing railer up. spent an hour putting them back on. on bracket is bent and mudflap corner drags on the ground. hope dot doesn't say anything. i stopped one the the yard jockeys and told him what happened to my trailer. he said he"ll mention it to the others.

No need to be doing that yourself ... call on road, take it to a TA and get yourself a free shower.

Taking some home time until at least next Monday ...

got to the final at 6 this morning and they didn't get done till about 11:30. just got to my next p/u with 5 minutes to spare. noone was there. called the number on qualcom and lady there said they were on their way. he didn't show up till 1345 and had me wait for another truck who had some product i was taking. didn't leave there till 1700 and by time i got fuel and couple passes at catscale, i was about done on my 14. so i mac 22 to deliver at 1100 tomorrow. what a day and drove only approx 100 today.
