Well went thru the orientation. Got my photo copied certificate. And was suppose to leave today with my mentor but found out his PTA isn't till 1700 tomorrow. So I have to call the terminal tomorrow at 0900 to find out if everything is a go. Looking forward to going out. Our Class started out with 29. By Monday at 4 we were down to 28. Tuesday by 8 we were down 2 more, and as of today we were at 25. Thought I was going to have some issues because I require a Cpap for sleeping, but it actually went fairly well once my doctor got off his arse. I believe the gentleman I'm going with is an O/O and has an inverter but I am bringing a 12 volt inverter just in case. So I'll ask you all now, is there anything out of the ordinary that you think I should have to go out? I have the essentials. Clothes, bathing stuff. I'm talking things I may not even know to bring! Thanks everyone for your help!
Mentor coming tomorrow 6/16/11

I'd say bring as little as possible, weeks worth of clothes, bathroom stuff, sleeping bag and pillow. You will be sharing a small space with your mentor and you really don't know how much room will be available. Maybe a book or two for down time or something like that but pretty much stick to the basics and you will be fine.

Thats about what I have. Shower shoes as well, but thats it, I talked to my mentor and he suggested just a blanket since it's so warm. Looks like he likes running the mid west/west coast, and I really am excited!! So I will try to post of my experience as I go. Thank you for the info neal79!!

Now, now, Bluebonn. Not every mentor is like that piece of ....er..... work... you chose to put up with. You had an opportunity to get onto a different truck and despite encouragement from everybody here, decided to complete training with a jackarse who might as well have actively tried to kill you...by denying your necessary meds. Your knothead is not a reflection of all mentors.
However. If our O/P finds himself in a similar predicament, I hope he knows he is not consigned to just dealing with it. Swift can't fix what it doesn't know about. -
Earplugs in case the mentor snores. I'm a big fan of duffel bags for the "living out of a bag" lifestyle because when they are empty they can be folded up pretty small and when they are full they don't take up a whole lot of space anyway, you might even be able to put one under your knees on the bunk for sleeping, one beside your head and shoulders and one down by your feet on the bunk so you're not encroaching on the mentor's cabinet space. One for clean clothes, one for dirty clothes and one for packing your toiletries and clean clothes into the shower. Of course your bedding. I have found what works great for me is a queen sized comforter folded in half with a sleeping bag in between that (I don't like that zipped up feeling). Roll it all together and place on top of his bed (perhaps with a tarp barrier lol) and unroll, when you get up roll again and place on top bunk. A fan or 2 is a must this time of year if you are both sleeping same time-- top bunk gets really hot. I've got the turbo clip fan that plugs into the 12volt and a 60 watt vertical fan from Target that plugs into the little inverter-- being vertical it doesn't take up too much space down by my feet.

Wanna know what I had to take? Breathe Right strips. I snore so loudly that a guy at a T/S knocked on my door to ask me to stop idleing... and the engine was off.
My poor mentor........
