I'll be running grocery to stores, all live unload at stores, drop/hook at the DC.

My pay rate will change some. Fuel surcharge will go down about 10 cpm. Linehaul will go to 97.5 to 99 cpm. Extra stop pay will go to $20/stop. All miles are paid. As if loaded.

I've run the numbers. This is a big pay raise for me. I don't have time to post them right now, but will at my next opportunity.

    Until then...

Hey that sounds great. I've heard the D/C, grocery store thing can leave a driver with long wait times for load/unload. Hope it works out good for you. Congratulations on the pay raise.

Grocery wait times happen between the suppliers and delivery to the DC.

I hook to a preloaded trailer, and take it to the stores. Walmart trailers take precidence at stores, therefore, no wait there.

    Detention is not an issue.

Well aren't you walking in tall cotton. I heard being late on a load for them is not something you want to do, like ever.

    Injun Thanks this.

    Way to go.

Ive done a couple here at Prime out of our Lewiston ME location... I showed up at the stores, and if there wasnt a door open, the manager would kick the Pepsi, or bread guy etc etc right out.

Manager would rally the troops and off load the pallets real quick too... One manager told me they shoot for a 30 min or less turn around... paperwork and all.

Only disapointing thing was how crappy the DC load the pallets... damaged product, torn cases etc... I told the manager I garauntee those items didnt show up at the DC looking that way.. after more deliveries than I can count at a DC, Wal-mart is the King for rejecting anything with even a hint of damage.

So what happens then? Are you held responsible for that some how? Or do you take note of the damage as it's loaded or what? Seems like a slippery slope. Do you get to keep rejected products?

Yes wm is taken 1st, no ifs and or buts. But your not wm, unless i missed that. If the docks are full it is up to management or a nice driver to get you into the dock. Some stores at critical of the eta they are given. wm is allowed 2 hrs from your arrival to get you out the door if they fail, you get a decent detention pay. If your SNI then its between $8-$45 upto 3 hrs. But other than that you seem on point. I did wm dedicated 8 months and loved it. Made way better than I did OTR with another company and better than some SNI otr drivers. Id recommend the dc account to anyone. good luck
