Talking with a friend in Florida. Swift has underbid Greatwide for the Walmart account in 3 or so terminals. They are now looking for 150+ - drivers to man the runs. They want you to relocate (no compensation for that) and work slip seat.

Brundidge AL and 2 places in Florida. Arcadia and another.

They are inspecting Greatwide trucks for those that want to lease on to Swift. This of course is if they meet the age requirements by Swift.

Of course they will be leasing on at a lower rate than what Greatwide was paying.

I asked my friend if he was going to do Walmart. He resounded with NO! As the money is going to be crap.

He is really pissed as some whizbang took all of the Ocala mechanics to D.O.T. inspect all the future lease trucks. He is running around with no A/C and they won't let him take it anywhere else to get it repaired.

Looks like lots of sleeping at home for the Florida guys.

Yep, I got that message on my QC last week. Relocation and slip seating were included but nothing about per mile pay since I'm company.

Relocation is covered?? I didn't hear that.

Pay is $.30 a mile. They are claiming you'll get 3000mi. a week.

Where's the BS meter when you need one?

No no no... I meant that the subject of relocation and slip seating were included in the message. $.30/ mile is BS but the msg did promise good miles and great hometime. No mention of pay in the message I got and my DM didn't mention a rate when I talked with him about the DC openings.

Another great perk of the Walmart dedicated. There's huge value in an extremely easy job and being home more often than OTR.

Nope... I'm a company driver and got the message last week. They opened it up to O/O first and fill in with company. The message stated they were looking for 300, if I remember correctly, company drivers for Florida and Alabama DCs.

Also, no slip seating for O/Os... that would be silly!!!

    Bigarmin88 Thanks this.

Yes it is 300 drivers. Not 150. And the pay scale, as I'm told, will be $75 for every load 0-175 miles, $125 for loads 176-350 miles and $.32/mile for loads over 350 miles. I know the mileage part is off, but it is around that number.

    Bigarmin88 Thanks this.

Even the flatbed fleet got the message. Delete.

Hold up, all that money and stop pay too?
