Inverters not allowed on Swift Trucks?

I just put a 3,000 watt in my truck....

 

wow im glad i dont have to go to swift they would hate me i wouldent last a week. when i came on with my company first thing i did was rip out the old cheap uniden cb and put in a 130 watt big boy galaxy then changed the flimsy antennas changed my lug nut covers to the nice and pointy ones wired in a 1400 watt inverter under the bed......i didnt even ask when the boss seen all the stuff he just laughed and said 'to be young again must be nice"

now to figure out how i can get rid of this muffler with out the boss knowing....i think its time to break out the torch and do a lil muffler surgury lol

 

Your truck will come with the new MCP200 Electronic Logging system. On the side of the unit is a USB port which can be used to power a lot of your electronics.

If you really wanted to follow Swift's policy on inverters but still wanted a power source for cooking and charging things up, I would suggest a small generator that you could store on the floor board in front of the passenger seat. You'd of course only run it outside and lock it so it doesn't grow legs. Harbor Freight Tools sells an 800 watt 2 cycle generator for about $130 bucks.

ive got the 7hp/3500 watt one they sell...they are pretty loud.....If you want a gernerator for a truck get a honda you almost can hear them run..

I was thinking about buying one of those 2000 watt Honda's. They are small and don't use much gas. Only thing I need to find out is how much gas you can carry per DOT.

Generators? Seriously? lol Anyway just get one of those 3 way 12 volt splitters for things like gps, cell phone, sirius radio. Always keep it plugged in the front so you don't fry the lower guage wire outlets in the rest of the truck.

 

being asI have a cpap machine swift says they will allow me to have an inverter (i have to buy it) and they will install it in my truck, thinking Ill get a 1500w or 2000w so i can also plug my tv and ps3 in the thing, just need to figure out now how to run a microwave and fridge in there as well.

Just, not all at the same time.

Try plugging in your fridge and microwave and TV and computer and coffee maker and electric blanket and alarm clock and everything else in your house to the same socket at home.

You would probably blow a breaker, or start a fire.

Multiply that effect on a truck, which only has batteries and thin wires to run the current.
