Just read on another thread that Swift won't even allow plug in inverters on their trucks? How in the heck can you cook/refigerate food, charge your laptops and or phones?

    Is this true?

Company trucks can have up to a maximum of a 300 Watt Inverter, plug in.

they dont want you doing any of that in their trucks, to many drivers burn there trucks down. Like post above very small inverters all allowed which is enough to power your laptop. It will not be enough for a real fridge or a microwave.

You can get a 12v (cig lighter) cooler and lunch box oven....or a small butane grill to use outside...

$450 a week will be going to bills and mortgage back home. I will be tryin to stock canned food and Ramen and soups. Also sandwich stuff and bread. Healthier and much cheaper than colored truckstop grease.

I do alot of backpacking and if forced to, will bring hydraded food (yuck) and backpacking stove and cook out in the cold.

I am looking online for plug in coolers and hotplates too. Thanks for the advice.

I have a small 300W inverter (which only does 150W if plugged in to the 12V socket), and no one has ever said anything.
I use it to power my laptop and a couple chargers, but everything else is 12V.

The only thing that really heats up the 12V plug is the oven, so I take care to heat my food in stages. If I just leave it on, it tends to melt things.
