Hello all. I am going to be applying for Swift very soon and am trying to work out some logistics. This is probably a strange question but does anybody know if there are any accomodations for parking and locking a bicycle at the Troutdale terminal?

I currently do not own a car and am trying to keep it that way. I live in downtown Portland and parking alone would run me $120 a month. I'd really appreciate some insight into this. Thanks in advance for the help!

I don't remember a bike rack, but I'm sure you could find something to lock it to. It'd be out in the weather, most likely. Have you checked public transit? The airport is close by, so I would think the city would have a bus going out that way. I don't see how you are going to carry all your stuff back and forth on a bicycle, but I guess you have that figured out.

Parking at Troutdale is pretty tight ... may not be room for a bike.

Actually, the terminal is looking really good the past few times I've been in there. I believe you will be able to park your bicycle under the stairs in the entry foyer. I have seen bikes parked there before.

Your starter DM will very likely be Jim S. He's a great guy, was a driver for 15 years himself. If you ask him, I'm sure he can help you figure something out. He tries to take care of his drivers. He was always very good with me.

Thanks for all the advice, all. I suppose once I get the application process started I can just swing by the terminal sometime and survey my options. Maybe pick up some more ideas there.

You and me both. Sitting here at Lathrop today and decided to walk to the grocery store with a red box that I've bobtailed to before. Didn't want to mess up my 34. Could have sworn it was closer than that...ooof

With a bike I could have gone to walmart and back...twice...in less time.
