Sorry, means just the opposite. Swift will be able to move loads via other carriers. That means that a one pony O/O with their own authority will be able to be certified to pull a Swift load in about 6 mins. I'm thinking that within a few years current L/O in Swift will end up having to get their own authority in order to work, ending the problems of 1099 L/O's being seen as employees.

I think FedEx forced their L/O's into getting their own authorities in order to run freight.

Don't get too exited. When the smoke clears it'll be obvious that Swift just contracted out services that they used to handle themselves. They save a buck by hiring instead of employing. No big deal- but, as usual they'll maximize the propaganda for their own profit.

    In the near future...
E-Logs for big company drivers, potentially causing late deliveries.
E-Loads from Swift taken by O/O at the same rate but without the restrictions of E-Logs, potentially making shippers happy.
    Soon... no company drivers?
    Am I missing something?

Sounds like the Planners and DM's better start re-learning (if they ever did) to be drivers!

Farm out the planning and dispatchers....saves on payroll tax liability to Swift!

Don't know if I like this as a company driver. High chances of sitting on weekends if you don't have a load as it is, now if any unaffiliated O/O can grab freight too that will make it worse.

I wonder if they'll allow company drivers to pick up Swift loads that way too, I'd much rather pick my own loads than get whatever random crap that gets thrown at me. Don't get me wrong my DM and usual planner gets me good loads, it's the afterhours and weekends that I seem to get goofy stuff.
