    My mentor is an o/o and has a crack that runs dead center of the windshield, top to bottom... and I wonder what would DOT say about this, and if I am driving am I in trouble? Thanks!

    I'm not exactly sure but it's not good and the dot won't care that ur new or not ur truck. Even if you only get a warning you can still get points on CSA according to Texas dot. If ur driving anything that happens is on you along with falsification of fed document if you didn't list it on ur pretrip. I wouldn't do it.

    <sigh>

    Put it on your POST TRIP sheet. Pre-trip inspections are not required to be documented, nor are they even required by law. Post trip inspections ARE required by law, ARE required to be documented, and the items listed on the written inspection MUST be repaired by the company before the truck can return to service.

    Thanks! Mr. Swift mentor keeps telling me not to put it down. Every 34hr reset we have been to he claims, oh I am going to have my windshield done However, I will going forward. Thanks again!

    If you're happy with your mentor, then drag him/her aside and let him/her know that the windshield needs to be fixed or you're going over his/her head to get it done. If you're not happy with your mentor, go over his/her head and let the company know that your mentor has told you to falsify your documentation. That should get some attention :)

    Well, I've heard that you can't operate the truck for 24 hours while the sealer cures...

    Very unhappy with said mentor. I have tried to get off his truck for health issues.. my DM was pissed at me, and said he would work on in...that was 9 days ago, and he will not return my calls. Going in to a terminal tomorrow, so I will say something again. I am just worried Swift will just hand me a bus ticket home.
