18 yo DV ?
Ok, when I was 17, I ended up with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. What I'm wondering is, since they hired me in 2004, shouldn't I be good now. Considering its even older now, than it was then ? Any input would be appreciated!!!!

The age of it is irrelevant. Criminal matters aren't like traffic tickets - they don't go away in time. But 2004 was eight years ago... if you were eligible to be hired then, why wouldn't you be now?

were you convicted as a minor or as an adult?
Makes a HUGE difference.
As a minor, when you turned 18, your records would have been sealed and you would have been able to basically start over with a clean slate as an 18 yo adult.
If you were convicted as an adult, then you are going to have that on your criminal record your entire life until you have it expunged.
Go talk to a good lawyer.

I'm pretty sure it was an adult charge. I was 17 but probation ended when I was 18. It shows in a state police background check

if you can't even answer that question honestly, you seriously need to consult with a lawyer on Monday morning.

Not a bad idea, however, probably wouldnt matter, considering it shows on a Hireright background check.
