Some questions from a noob that applyed to swft school an hour ago
Hi all on this forum iv been reading this forum for a few month's now and took the plunge and decided to apply for swift seeing how the only school close to my location costs around 10k.
I have a few questions first off i was charged with a misdormeaner when i was 16 im now 33 and havnt been in trouble since i disclosed this info on my application and was wondering if anyone was denied because of such a thing??
Also iv been unemployed for some time now living off money that was left to me from a grandparent i had like 3 steady jobs my whole life the rest where dead end temp jobs threw diffrent agencys and a few years of not having a job at all will this hurt me in anyway id really like to make a career of trucking in somthing that i enjoy i went on the road a few times with a buddy of mine that is a o/o and i loved it
Has anyone else with these simular problems got in with swift?

a misdemeanor at 16 should be gone due to time-limitaions, and as well if you have been clean that long you can get it expunged from the record by about any law-school graduate - you could find counsel to do that by working the phone book and if any company makes it an issue, you do not want to work there anyway,...except for a fast-pass casual mention

They might want to see some documentation of what you were doing while unemployed. Wouldn't the misd at 16yo be juvenile and sealed? Unless there's something else these two items will not be a problem. Where are you located?

I'm pretty sure a misdemeanor at 16 would never see the light of day as you were a juvenile at the time and those records are normally sealed. Would not worry about that and would not list it.

I'm having some problems with this myself. Getting documentation of when you were employed makes sense. But how are you supposed to account for time that you were not employed? The closest thing I can think of is my Social Security yearly summary that gives an account of all the times I was putting into it. Aren't you required to pay into SS when are employed? Wouldn't that cover it?

Normally you have to account for all time including that unemployed between jobs. I tend to take a few weeks to a month in between jobs to clear my head and have never been asked for proof that I was unemployed. They just want to account for the time.

Regarding the long unemployment period, get a notarized statement from someone who knows you who can verify you weren't a pot farmer. On the other hand, they may not request it anyway; there were a lot of us unemployed for a long, long time.

There is no such person who can verify that. Not only that, but Swift doesn't want just one reference, they want two. I've been living on public assistance a long time and you would think that the officials who have been monitoring me every three months, every year might be able to prove my unemployment, but they tell me they can't do that. Everywhere I look, it makes less and less sense.

I am able to give noterized letters also account for the time i been unemployed but the reason i ask about the misdormeaner is about 10 years ago i tried going over the border to canada for dinner with my family and they treated me as if i was a hardend criminal and wouldnt let me in i havnt tried since and i laso did background checks threw hire right and another company and my criminal record was clear but didnt wanna lie on my application about have i ever been convicted of a crime also i live in buffalo.ny and the only place here is Ntts and they cost around 9-13k for school : ( so i figure if swift accepts me i can get the schooling and driver for them for a year to get exp and move on to a local gig here at con way
