For noobs...I have not worked for them, but all I have heard is pretty much bad stuff.. Just use the search button. You will get a wealth of info to draw your own conclusion.

Been with Swift over 9 years. They do what I need and want to stay happy. They pay isn't the best but the benefits are very good. You will find "bad stuff", but you will also find lots of good when you do a thorough search.

Great if you're just starting out. get on a dedicated account and you might do just fine. Work your way up to The Disney On Ice account or the circus one and you will be happy. For me I have kids so the no hometime on those accounts kill me. But you can make some money. As far as staying solo OTR this is where they fail. Dedicated, Mentor is about the only way you can make good money with Swift as far as driving.

Solo OTR and you are fighting most weeks for the miles

How do you get on a dedicated account do you put in a bid for one or do they assign you one ?

Be on time always, have no other problems and if your DM is worthy you will start getting messages for accounts and a number to call. You could ask what's available as well.

They are just like most every trucking company I have worked for, the pay should be extended for experience, company shops need a total restructuring for service cause of high downtime for simple things (4 days for a 3 hour oil change recently), and more home time options without losing truck would be nice are my only gripes. I've stayed for 3 years with them cause of all the drop and hook, you will have more with larger companies. I worked with refrigerated trailer meat loads for 8 years before and that was 2-3 days sitting near a slaughterhouse every time you got a load. You would see your load come in mooing at you then a couple days later with 5-700 cases in your clean trailer, drop and hook with dry freight is so nice compared to that crap.

The miles are consistent as long as you are in a newer truck, and run your Qualcomm right. Your DM has a job like you to keep that truck hitting miles, idle %, on time deliveries, so if you aren't getting miles you and your DM need to get your #### together. They are always changing things, some bad some good like the newer rank bonus has been nice. I've had a few bonuses appear on a check for a week I had took time off and that came in real handy.

I have been working for swift for close to year and I love it, to all of the people who think Swift is bad, its bad people "super truckers" or newbie drivers who think they know it all, they are the ones who give us Swift drivers a bad name, like I said I have only been here close to a year, but the key to keeping a clean records (no CERs, no CSAs, etc.) Is to learn everyday, don't get stuck on what you think you already know, that's how I keep myself out of trouble and keep my record clean, hope this helps

To get a dedicated route is easy, all you have to do is talk to your Driver Leader and ask if there are any positions open on a dedicated route, if there are, they will run you to the area of the dedicated route if you are out of route, then you start running the dedicated route
