Well a little bit about me, I have 10 years in the Navy and now I work as a Army contractor working on MRAP's in Afghanistan, but my contract ends in December and I was planning on becoming a truck driver. I am looking at Swift since the Richmond VA school is a hour away from me. Now my question is will Swift consider me with this MVR

Must be at least 23 years of age.#(21 if you have served in the military)
Possess a valid CDL Class A License (CDL training available)
Pass a Swift written test and a Swift road test
No DWI, DUI convictions within the last 5 years
No reckless driving convictions within the last 3 years
No more than one moving violation within the last year and no more than three within the last three years
No major preventable accident within the past twelve months or more than two in the past five years
No more than one driver's license suspension in the past three years
Applicant must provide a current 5 year DMV printout
Applicant must pass the Workwell Physical Assessment, a DOT physical and DOT controlled substance and alcohol testing
A conviction form must be filled out for all misdemeanor or felony convictions. This does not necessarily disqualify you from employment. -
The last two tickets on your MVR do not look good. I would wait until the last ticket you got is over 3 yrs old. Most companies will frown over 2 serious violations even though you have a regular driver s license. Not to mention 7 points on your license do not look good either in the eyes of the insurance companies either.
-
No offense but I wouldn't hire you to drive a cargo van, let alone a 80,000 pound truck. Your record indicates lack of self control and impulsive driving habits.
I know #### happens sometimes but not on a regular basis like thatSkunk_Truck_2590 Thanks this. -
Also I speak from experience, I used to be the same. I had to just outlived my past. Goodluck
-
####....so basically wait until May of 2014?
-
you have 3 major moving violations on your record, it will be hard to find a company that will hire you with one on your record, and you have 3.
-
Shouldn't the one from 2006 have fallen off your record by now? That was 7 years ago, the 2006 one shouldn't even show up any more I would think.
-
Not sure how florida does it, this is my record since I been driving (1996) till now
-
Insurance companies wont cover anyone with a speeding of 14 and over, you have a 16 and over. Bottom line, your going to have to wait till they drop off. Good Luck.
