Jerry, can't help but as of this writing that you've got seven posts with one of your first opening the thread knocking the Swift lease purchase O/O's and now this...
.... uhmmmm....
.... you worked for Swift before and didn't cut the mustard? Just wondering.
Back to the regularly scheduled programming, what's the CPM for the port fleet? -
whatever your company pay is what you will earn at the port fleet. It's a good account but can stress you out when the dispatchers don't do their job/ over book loads and p.s there's no night dispatch sooo that's a BIG negative. -
No night dispatch? Sounds familiar. I'm on the TJ Maxx dedicated account right now, and we only have planners working the day shift during weekdays. Get's frustrating when we need something at night or on weekends. You would think that on a DEDICATED fleet that SWIFT would be dedicated, not just the drivers. At least have cross training with off shift planners or something.

pretty much one of the main reasons why I left to get on the Lowes dedicated. No one answers the phone or messages after 445 pm and if you ask the other planners or dls for simple registration checks you will wait a minimum of 2 hrs then get a real dumb answer. It gets pretty frustrating at night haha -
Is Lowe's dedicated different? They actually have planners and dispatch that work 24/7 like truckers do?

I start there in the morning. I'll let you know what I learn. 1) Pay is whatever you would earn on OTR. 2) You work with just two people in the Phoenix Ops Center. I don't know if there is anyone else around to help besides a couple of local drivers who know stuff at LB. Otay Mesa, Calexico, and Yuma is true as well as San Diego and obviously, LB.
There's more I understand from talking to people on those runs, but I'll verify and get back here. You're more likely out a couple of weeks before taking any time out, but can possibly make it every weekend if you're rolling well and God smiles on you. As I understand it, you can start in Phoenix, get to the LB port and maybe down to Otay Mesa in a day if it goes well. That's like 8 hours of drive on a very good day and X hours waiting, so you could get that run done on good days in 14 hours. Maybe. I hear the longshoremen yell at you. If that will make you cry, don't do it.Last edited: Aug 8, 2014
