Swift rejected me because I use a cpap. Sent me home.

The Lord's been good to me and so I thank the Lord............

Very nice statement, indeed. Thank you kindly.

In defense of Swift and trucking companies in general there have been studies that link required use of a cPAP to unhealthy sleep. Which translates to higher risk of accidental mishaps.

It affects a number of people. Keep your chin up and may God continue his Blessings onto you and yours.

I would like to see such studies. I think you misspoke. My guess is they refer to sleep apnea leading to higher risk of mishaps. The CPAP treats that problem. CPAP use is a good thing.

You are correct my mention perhaps is better stated that it is perceived that way from those studies. cPAP is certainly a good thing.

    Better wording. Very good point.

It is possible to save face. Large companies sometimes make the intentional news by donating money or support to gay organizations. It often is a very public hoorah for the company. And issues related calm. Unfortunately the issues are never resolved.

Still trying to to understand the unapproachable management. In the past I have phoned Swift Phoenix, Az Corporate HR twice and had to leave a voicemail both times. No replies were ever received. My third message was that I was being forced outside of Swift with a lifestyle issue brought on at Swift. No reply.

Things have certainly changed for me in the last 24 hours. But just more of the same in tighter control is what I believe I am witnessing. Truly unfortunate.

Continue to be aware when typing posts or replies my posting is being interrupted often. I am still at a Swift terminal. Uncertain if their connection here is safe or solid. I have full bars. Sometimes long delays between what typing and it showing up on the screen or text is different than I had typed. Odd.

You sound like a conspiracy nut. I have never had a reliable connection at the terminals. I have always had to use my phone as a hot spot. As for the gay thing no one cares. Company only cares if load is on time and delivered. Get over yourself.

Didn't come up until they tossed out the physical I had done at home since it wasn't a Swift approved doctor. The Swift doctor told me I had to get a DOT approved cpap (which doesn't exist) with a data recorder. My machine is older and has no recorder. After telling me this and sending my blood pressure through the roof, she knocked me for my blood pressure (which read borderline) and said I needed to be 120/80. Yeah lady, tell a guy he has to lay down $700 he doesn't have for a new cpap and your blood pressure might read 149/90!!!

The Swift recruiter said I could do my orientation in El Paso, then at the last minute told me they stopped doing orientation in El Paso and I'd have to go to Phoenix

Had I done it here I could have saved myself the aggravation of going to Phoenix.

Yes. It's the sleep apnea causing sleep problems, not the cpap.
