You won't go to orientation in Phoenix. If you are in the Virginia school, you will go to orientation somewhere lots closer than Phoenix. Memphis, Richmond, or another of the eastern terminals.

 

Inkeper is right after your two weeks in VA doing your skills either they send you to your home terminal

 

The Richmond academy is a great school with very knowledgeable instructors. Just pay attention to what they say and you'll be fine.

Your home terminal is where you will be doing orientation and if you live closer to Richmond than Greer, sc you will be going to Richmond.

The NC DMV backing test is significantly harder than VA and PA. Just go into it with a willingness to learn and the mindset that you know absolutely nothing and listen to everything they say and you will do great.

Supposedly all states are going to have a standardized backing test by this summer and it will be the same as NC. Even though it's harder remember that at some point or another everyone has to do those difficult backing maneuvers you just get a head start at it and get to do it for your DMV test.

P.s. make sure you have your hard copy cdl permit. They will send you home without it and I saw a lot of people sent home because their recruiter said they didn't need it.

 

My recruiter told me that I had to do my physical through concentra is that true my primary said he can do my physical a lot cheaper

 

Swift will only accept DOT physicals at swift approved sites and concentra is the main swift approved site. I would call and ask them if your primary is accepted by swift. If you are going to the Richmond academy they will do physicals on Monday at concentra so if you want to risk it you could get one at your primary and if it's not accepted you'll have to pay for the concentra physical.

 

In NC to get your permit you need a physical and to go to Virginia you need your permit
