Can anyone tell me about the benefits. How long do you have to be employed to get insurance. Also how long before you are eligible for 401K?

    Let's see.
    We have Aetna insurance.

I am single, with very basic medical coverage with vision.
Last year it cost me about $160 per month.
This year it is costing me $200 per month, and my deductible has gone from $4,000 to $6,000 per year for the same coverage.
I guess it's because I need maternity coverage now, and other things that don't really apply to my own personal needs, thanks to ObamaCare.
Ya, it really has reduced the cost for most of us. Just like Obama said it would.

The one time I used it I paid the co-pay, plus $400 for the 1/2 hour doctor visit.
    Aetna paid nothing.

I didn't even really need to go in. But I thought, I have insurance now - let's see what happens.
    Well, I found out.

I'm really wondering why I'm paying $2,400 per year, $8,400 per year with the deductible, when I go to a doctor less than once every 5 years for things that cost me far less than $1,000.
I'd hate to think what I would be paying with a family.

If I don't contract some insanely expensive something in the next few weeks I'll probably just cancel it, since it hasn't done me any favors except to gouge my pocketbook.

You could just say screw the medical coverage, get your own vision and dental and then just pay the penalty at the end of the year. Youll save money that way.

Have you looked for other plans either on your own or through the website to see if you can get a better deal or coverage-plan that works better for you?

I mean the Affordable Health Care Act has been around for years but your rates changed now and now you complain. It doesn't make sense blaming something that has been around for a long time because your rates changed. Insurance rates change a lot over time for various reasons like inflation and healthcare costs.

The AFHCA might help you get better insurance by giving you more opportunities because the law has changed and you don't have to worry about only having the choices your employer gives you, you can search in an open market and god forbid something bad does happen to you you can't be denyed coverage or have a cap. Maybe you should be take advantage of your health insurance and take better care of yourself flu shots, health screenings like colonoscopies etc. that are important for men. I hate to say it but after 30 we all go downhill and your medical needs are going to go up not down.

Oh and Lycan, I am sorry I can't answer your original question, we don't use Swifts benefits program. Although I do encourage you to also check out your options for health insurance on healthcare.gov and not to just blindly buy into what Swift is offering you. There might be something better for you out there.

I do believe that the Oboma care act has bee around since about 2009. But, it was designed to not kick in until after his reelection, so not all the bad stuff will start appearing. Hope after it is completely implimented you still like it. I have a version of it already, and it is not pretty.

I believe that you are eligible for benefits after 90 days. Your recruiter can tell you for sure.

You are eligible for benefits on the first of the month 60 days after your hire date(30 days if you have driving experience), so if you get your driver code on April 20th 60 days later is June 20th but you would be eligible July 1st. I hope that isn't to confusing that's the best way I can explain it.

Whatever the cause for the increase, it's a bit too much.
