swift pay raise?

I never thought about a usb tuner, will have to look into it. I normally just download movies and shows since I never can watch tv at the right times or the shows I like are on cable channels. TV's are getting so cheap I have thought about getting me a nice 32inch for the truck, I can hook up my laptop to it with HDMI and my laptop also has a blu ray player.

I occasionally bring a 12v portable dvd player out with me but I much prefer reading. I have a nook, kindle, and I think 12 books on the truck now. I stay out 4 weeks at a time but get to the house a few times between home times to switch out.

 

I dont have time to read, why I listen to audiobooks these days. I am hooked on the graphic audio books and on number 75 of Deathlands currently. 10 hour break on most work nights just isnt enough for me to bother trying to read after a shower, food etc.

 

I do not want to even try to imagine how you get enough rest with the schedule you work on your dedicated account on the van side. My head spins reading some of your posts in the good night thread lol. One of the hidden blessings of this dedicated flatbed gig has been it's predictability. Nobody is open, well excep for Freighliner in Gaffney SC, at night so I pretty much start and end my day at the same times unles I get held up at a steel mill or in traffic in Cincinnatti. Many days my 10 is more like a 12 or 13 due to unload/load times and knowing where I will or want to be every evening.

Haha. I agree, chasing the mighty dollar makes us do strange things sometimes.

 

That is why I've avoided that chase.

I do strange enough things without adding that to the mix.

 

Hahaha...yeah there is some strange rumor floating around that us flatbedders work very hard. While I may work hard it is only for a very short while. I am darn lazy otherwise but Swift seems happy with what I do and I am quite happy with what they provide in return.

 

I am a lazy guy dont get me wrong, I would love to just sit around or take it easy more often but got the wife and kids to support.
I started thinking if I was a single guy living in the truck making my current money I would have one nice savings going on lol
