Started to see more reefer trailers lately here in the Carolinas. Anybody know which terminals might be running the fleet??

Its a faze out. Older central trailers are being sold and all new reefers are having swift slapped on the side. Its the only way that make sense with the merger. In 3-4 years everything that said central on it will be gone

Salt lake term has only been getting swift reefers. No new central ones coming in. Maint on a reefer trailer is more indepth than a dry van. The insulation weakens over time. Its cheaper and quicker to sell the old and replace with new

So I'm going to have to start looking for trailer's with Swift written on them now?
I can see it now : Call dispatch and tell them the trailer's not there. They tell me to look for one with Swift written on it instead of Central. -
Yup. Ive already had a issue like that at the rr in mira loma

SWIFT had a reefer division long before CENTRAL came along http://swifttrans.com/about/details/temperature-controlled

Yes. But was it even close to how big central was? No. The acquisition of central made swift quadruple its reefer division.

I sort of REALIZE that was just putting the info out there that its not their FIRST attempt at pulling REEFERS !

There is a Reefer division out of PHX, plus the Costco accounts and Wal Mart accounts and now also Winco
RookieJ1987 Thanks this.
