Agreed this is how this situation needs to be handled or we will be judged on everything right down to how many times we yawn in a day. A yawn is actually listed in there top 15 most observed events number 14 is drivers messing with the camera equipment and number 15 is tailgating.

Hey trsnam, we've tried, Lord knows we've tried over and over again. As much as we downplay a company, some newbie will chime in saying they're overjoyed at being hired on by these companies. I see, as we speak, someone in the sidebar is asking about Swift's school. Either they think THEY won't get screwed over, or are just that desperate that they are willing to go for it. I think it's the latter, and these companies know it.

I see a LOT of tailgating, both on me and truckers doing it.

I got a message from my home terminal today telling of an event.
A Swift driver rear ended the truck in front, which in turn rear ended the school bus in front of that truck.
Several students were being transported to the hospital.
Obviously both truck drivers were WAY too close.

I don't have a problem with a forward facing camera, or ones that show the left/right hand view. That should be standard equipment on all trucks.
I've really been thinking seriously about getting a cam for my truck because of some of the close calls I've had.

But I draw the line at looking at me, especially after I shut down, for any reason!

I have done very well at swift but i know i am part of a small minority. Swift turns over ***ABOUT*** 15,000 drivers a year that's not office staff that is only drivers.
**Point of edit** added word ABOUT.

If you get a whole bunch of werner trainers to become exhibitionists inside their sleeper berth for these inside facing cameras I'm sure that's a good way to disgust these safety jerks. I know on our qualcom there is an option that activates a critical event. I wonder if you select "activate critical event" on the qualcom will it send critical event footage to the company? If so, this might be a good way to make sure they get footage they don't want to see.

Which one of you Swift drivers wants to retire a millionaire? Go after Swift on every single Federal and State privacy and wiretapping law you can hit them with. You will have no problem finding the lawyers willing to do it.
