Wow! .26 a mile!!!! Way to go swift good job at taking advantage of drivers..... if a swift driver drives 4 miles he can aford a soda.
HalpinUout, PChase, Joetro and 2 others Thank this. -
talked to a recruiter today, thinking of starting orientation in OKC this Tuesday, he said after your 4 or 5 weeks on road with trainer they start you off at .33 after 3 months .34 after 6 was .35 and after year another raise.
jonthebritnc and kc2000315 Thank this. -
I am so sick of people hating on Swift yes they are not the best but they are what they are a starter company. As far as pay rates I have heard alot from new drivers. But one thing I know for sure dont trust a recruiter they will tell you anything to get you their cause its their job. Its up to you to figure out what is true and what isnt. They have a big long thread about the new pay raises. Seams like no one really gets it.

The only reason I was thinking about swift is its been 2 years since I've drove and the pay raise that I seen on here but when the recruiter told me .26 a mile im having second thoughts, I know its not the cents per mile you make, you can make 40 cents per mile and not get the miles and its still not better. I get out of the army on the 12th Sept so I still have a week to think about it

I think I would look for a company with APUs but that's just me. -
I have a job offer with Tyson also. but if Swift had a pay raise plus the mile I could get there, was the only reason I was thinking about swift and no refresher course with Swift or Tyson as long as I can pass the driving test I know I can pass the test. both companies. I will have to go OTR with a trainer for a few weeks but thats fine with me.

Joetro Thanks this.

It is also a sliding pay scale, so the shorter the load the more you make per mile.
The lowest rate will be for loads 500 miles and above, and it increases with every 100-150 mile decrease.
I'm not sure of the exact rates vs mile ratio, but loads that are below 150 miles will be earning somewhere around .50 cpm.
My base rate is .375
My last check showed:
135 miles and lower was .515
198 miles was .465
200-289 miles was .435
I think you can see that Swift made a serious effort with this new pay package.kc2000315 Thanks this.
