Don't know how we got on this, but since we did, while in Fla. one year, my daughter became friends with another young girl at our hotel, I asked her where she was from, she said, "Holland". I said, " my goodness, you speak English very well". Later on, in the vacation, I found out she was from Holland, MICHIGAN.:biggrin_2559:

I was talking with a cashier at a Pilot in Indiana. She asked me where I was going and I said "Oklahoma." ... She goes "sounds awful, what's it like?" ... I said a "a lot like Indiana."

A local schoolgirl in my area won an essay contest and the TV reporter asked her if she wanted to be a writer someday. Her reply was, "No, I want to write books and stuff"

Egads that was painful to watch.
Her accent is an affectation, though. It's "boot in your arse, large-testicled countryfied tough guy," which is the white rural redneck analogue to urban gangsta rap.
It's about posing and appearing to be something you're not, not about substance.

HA, here's another for Jeff Foxworthy, " If you are attracted to this gal, you might just be a redneck".
