First of all, I could barely understand a word she said, I have the same problem with the blacks in my area, they mumble or something, and second, these are the kind of people that run into stopped traffic, because they're babbling their mouths off, not paying attention, and yeah, where is her seatbelt? I'd run screaming into the night to get away from a woman like this. What in the world was she talking about, anyway?:biggrin_25513:

Hi CG, well, perhaps, but is anyone really impressed by that drawl/mumbling? I've always tried to speak clearly and correctly. I don't want to start a race riot, but I live in a predominantly black neighborhood, and while my neighbors are great people, sometimes, I can't understand a word they say. I'll say, excuse me? Then they clean it up, and I understand them. I'll bet this woman doesn't even realize how ridiculous she sounds.

i completely agree, however I was being sarcastic bc ( besides the fact that's my M.O.) lol ... If you listen to " the average T driver" in any T/S you'll hear the exact verbiage. I too have to say " excuse me" due to the ridiculous seemingly forced redneck draw. I'm born and raised in Texas, folks from the South ask where I'm from, folks in North hear my Southern accent, so I suppose I'm in the middle somewhere, but I do try to speak like a grown up that has some sort of education and raising. A.A like their Ebonics I think bc they want to feel separated, as some Southerners like to feel separated from the North. Just my opinion bc I have no idea why else one would choose otherwise. But again we can't group anyone bc just when you stereotype , someone else will come along and be completely different . That's what makes this country stand apart from all others, D I V E R S I T Y. My favorite accents are NY and ME.

A while back, I saw a TV special that was all about the accents and sayings from different parts of the country. It was really cool. I had a waitress in Ga. once ask me, in her southern, but understandable, accent if I was born in this country. To show how sheltered some people are, a waitress in Fla. asked me where I was from, because of my midwest accent(?), I said from Milwaukee. Blank stare, Wisconsin, again, no clue. She said where is that? I said, up north, Chicago? Her response was, "Oh, where it's cold all the time".:dontknow:
