richsoucie said: ↑I like the sliding scale I am on a dedicated account that uses the OTR pay scale and our longest trip is 421 miles. We then head back empty so I get paid .45 cpm to the store and .43 cpm back to the dc. And if they have me take a load of pallets back from the store it gets dispatched on a separate trip and I get .45 cpm both ways. I go home every night and get weekends off and am doing 4210 miles a week (monday-friday). All in all I am happy with it and the raise in pay from the .40 cpm I was making makes up for the mileage I lost from going OTR to dedicated. Plus there is alot less bs to deal with on a dedicated account and I go home for 8 to 9 hours every night.Click to expand...MysticHZ said: ↑So explain to me again how you missed the part about him being a trainer ... now go sit in the corner and no desert for you ...Click to expand...

I work for them and I have some not so nice things to say , BUT at the same time I also have about the same amount of nice things to say. So it kinda washes out I guess -

I'd rather work for a company I KNOW has freight ALL YEAR LONG, because they are the largest carrier in the States. Are there not so good things, sure, but I'm going to learn all I can and then decide how to proceed.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
There is usually freight..not always the freight you want but they will offer you some kind of load..up to you if your willing to take it or not...There is good and bad in all company's..swift is no different...Swift will let you run or they will let you sit..depending on your ambition..As a solo driver, i used to average 3100-3300 miles a week but when im out on the road i am out there to work not sit...I can sit at home...They have been good to me for past 4 yrs and im content for now...Of course..a lot of us not so happy with the new pay rates but thats okay...it will work out in the end...And for that guy that laughs at me when he sees "leased to" on my truck...im guessin he just bought his dinner with his points at the pilot...Dont laugh at me..i make good money with my truck Swift has always done right by me so far...I am not satisfied with the pay rates for us but its ok..i have the option to not take it and continue to do what i been doing...If you cant get miles...dont get mad and quit..talk to your Dm or change dm if you need to...change your home terminal if thats what it takes but talk to someone and try to fix it first...
fr8monkey, JOHNQPUBLIC, OceanDan and 3 others Thank this.
