As far as I know the pay for students hasn't changed. It is your state's minimum wage while you are on duty not driving and $9.50/hour while driving. I averaged around $400-$450 a week while with my mentor. The only thing that I have heard of changing is they now pay during orientation which is a plus. I wouldn't expect $600/week while training but with the new pay increase you can make a decent living at swift as a first year driver.

This is what I need to see. I read somewhere can't feed myself and send money home. Well stay out of the 5 star restaurants. See you on the road and keep the shiny side ^up^

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I visit a friend in FL often. It's about 850 mile. In a 4 wheeler no stops but for gas it is 12 hours best time. Now trucks don't go 70 75 mph do they. 4210 a week home every night off weekends. Ain't no way...

Super trucker here must be on the new Swift helicopter fleet

You can join tangerine in the corner for failing to read the entire thread ... want to be a successful driver ... pay attention to details and don't leap to conclusions, make sure you know where you're going before you go there.

Don't know much but a trainer can't drive team. He has to be in the seat when student is driving and not asleep and that's the law.. or so I'm told

He is referring to the training after the student has acquired a CDL. I believe you are thinking of training with a cdl permit which is a different story. It sounds like you have a lot to learn about the training process there is plenty of info here on the forum about the training process.
