I haven't had a problem with def freezing, last year I was in some -20-40 weather for weeks in Montana and states up there. I always do keep any fluid in the truck topped off though especially in really cold weather, it's a good rule of thumb regardless. Just like food, drinks, clothing, fresh batteries in bad weather keep them stocked/filled/charged up.

At first I didn't like not having shower credits at Pilot/FJ. However, I've found that the TA/Petro's are much more driver oriented. For one thing they have actual driver lounges, with televisions with actual channel changers.... what a concept!

I'm impressed with many of the stops in their chain. I only stop at Pilot/FJ to scan paperwork anymore.

Regarding DEF, best keep that above 1/2 in the winter. You never know when the next fuel stop won't be pumping DEF because it froze in their tanks. Nothing like using box DEF when it's zero and windy.

    HousTank Thanks this.

If your truck was off for some time then most likely your def in tank froze in that temp. Its just not a big deal because your def tank has a heater in it. Your truck can run any where between 50 to 70 miles to give the def ttime to unthaw in cold temp. Also if any one is wondering what the little motor sound is when you shut off your truck it's a pump that draines the def lines pump it back in tank so def lines won't freeze

They've really been cracking down on fueling locations. They have deleted all of our local station codes out of the system. Im on the central side, so I have to fuel trailers that drop and sit for a couple days at our drop yard. So now instead of fueling 5 minutes away from our drop yard at the independent TS. We have to take the trailer 40 minutes away just to get fuel at a TA. Talk about spending dollars to save cents. I tried explaining this to phoenix. and they just won't budge. SMH.

not quite, Swift drivers can't back into a space.. everybody knows this.

the only thing that changes is there will be less Swift drivers parking for 30 minutes on a cat scale while they take a shower.
