The clinic that tests you for your physical will be the one to decide whether you need a sleep study. Answer 'no' to questions about snoring, daytime sleepiness, frequent waking etc., and you shouldnt have issues with apnea. The people who did my orientation really could care less how fat you were. I'm 6'2 300 and attracted absolutely no attention. Now, if you were 400, 500, 600 pounds, I would be more concerned about being singled out.
