Ok, stupid question. I've been hiding on dedicated routes for a couple years, and will be going to a new dedicated run in three weeks. In the meantime I'm running OTR, and doing my first East Coast run that will take me through NY tomorrow. I seem to remember from school, (Sage,) that NY was extra douchey and required a sticker? And without that sticker I get cited? Is this the case or can I drive right through that hoe?
The dumbest question you will read all day.

Don't worry about the sticker. They have never said anything to me about it. I had a sticker on my last truck it came off. I did have the permit paper work but no sticker. Never had a sticker on current truck and Went in and came out with no problem.

Ok so that's it. The HUT thing. I looked at it, it says For NY HUT call 1800 blah blah, but I was unsure what HUT was and if it applied or was for alcohol etc. Thanks!

HUT = Highway Use Tax. Send a QC message to Permits and they'll tell you your official status, including the number of the sticker assigned to your truck.

Screw the sticker. I haven't had one since they started it back up again. Nobody checks anything in that state.

Permits office is closed, I'm going to T-call in HBurg PA and try to head west. I'm not risking a citation for a load lol.
